Come enjoy the beauty of the grounds of the Loyola Retreat House while participating in a retreat we are sure you will find both enjoyable and beneficial.
Many attendees have decades of experience in recovery. The Retreat offers opportunities to meet and share your experience, strength, and hope with old friends, and establish new friendships that may help sustain your own recovery for years to come.
The primary focus of the Retreat is the 11th Step: Sought through Meditation and Prayer to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us, and the power to carry that out.
Many of us have found that meditation and prayer have enabled us to feel more happily and usefully whole, and provided us with a stronger foundation for a life centered on service to our fellows in recovery. Yes, we trudge the road to happy destiny guided by our Higher Power, as we understand Him.
This retreat will be conducted within the guidelines set by the CDC, local government, and the Loyola Retreat Center with regard to measures required to protect all attendees health against the Covid 19 virus, i.e., vaccination requirements, wearing of masks, etc.
In our daily lives we are often too busy, and to be on the go all the time not only brings exhaustion without, but also a fragmentation within. We are restless, irritable and discontent. Retreat helps us dispel this murkiness of discontent by looking honestly at ourselves in relation to a Higher Power. In this we need to be gentle with ourselves and others, as sometimes tired and battle scarred, we simply need the healing of space to be, to rest and be restored. The measure of what you sow in diligence and discipline will be the measure of what you reap from your days of retreat. Expect to know yourself better. Expect to be more aware of a spiritual world; to be content with yourself and your Higher Power; to be changed from the inside out.
